Update: Another One Bites The Dust

I previously wrote about my basil plant that looked a bit, not green.  Well, I have to say that my plant has now officially died.  I’m very sad about this fact.  Upside though, this means I have a good excuse to go to Eastern Market this Sunday.

I would like to think I didn’t kill my plant but I did leave it bone dry for 10 days while I was on vacation.  It’s a very sad and pathetic looking thing that sits in its pot on my balcony right now.  I should probably throw it out.  Oh well, I knew it was going to happen.

New plant, whatever you may be, I hope you are a little more resilient to my negligence.

No Green Thumb for Me

Even though I have a minor in forestry, I don’t have a green thumb.  And this sad fact that I realized a couple of weeks ago is evident by my basil plant.

Despite the fact that I water it every third day 1/2 a cup of water and have outside where it gets sunlight and shade, it doesn’t seem to be making it.

Some of the bottom leaves are yellow or dried out.  And as a whole, the leaves aren’t very green.  At least not the same color green that you find basil in the stores.

I bought this plant about a month ago at the market.  The basil is very fragrant and taste delicious.  I’m just not sure if it will last much longer.

Of course, this won’t be the first plant I’ve killed.  I had one in college, my sophomore year that didn’t last two weeks and my mom bought me a house plant when I moved into my apartment in September.  That one last a month at least.

Mind you, I do water and make sure they get sunlight but I guess I just don’t have that gene that makes me have a green thumb.  Oh well. Guess I’ll never have garden.
